The 12CX's powerful 12 parallel channel receiver gives you continuous position updates whether you're cruising the placid surface of a lake or bushwhacking in the outback. It even boasts vastly improved battery life - up to 50 percent over the respectable 24 hours of its predecessor - in case your adventures take you farther afield than you planned.
Garmin handhelds are renowned for their ease of use, and the GPS 12CX is no different. The new keypad layout includes separate "Zoom In" and "Zoom Out" keys for simple manipulation of the moving map page, and the enhanced graphic interface organizes 1000 waypoints into an easily accessible tab-file system. This unit also comes with a full complement of advanced software features such as a point database of cities, TracBack navigation and graphic steering guidance.

- All device settings will be restored to their factory default configuration
- All user data (waypoints, routes, tracks) will be cleared from the device
- Satellite constellation data will be cleared from the device
- Press and hold the MARK button
- Power the device on while continuing to hold the MARK button
- Highlight 'YES' - 'NO' - 'YES' - 'NO' - 'YES'
- Press ENTER
- Place the device outside with a clear view of the sky for a minimum of 20 minutes to acquire satellite constellation data
- Occasionally, satellite data can become obsolete or corrupt preventing your device from acquiring a satellite lock.
- Performing an AutoLocate on your device removes all satellite data and allows it to re-establish a proper connection with the satellites.
- The steps below will walk you through this process.
- Turn the GPS off
- Press and hold the PAGE and POWER buttons simultaneously
- Release the buttons once the device powers on
- Place the device outside with a clear view of the sky for a minimum of 20 minutes to acquire satellite constellation data
- TIP: Leaving the GPS device in a stationary position should reduce the time needed to locate satellites
